Biographical Sketch:
     Dr. Stephen L. Scott earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Kent State      University, Kent, Ohio. Stephen also holds the M.S. from Kent State University      and the B.A. from Thiel College, Greenville, PA. Prior to attending graduate      school, Dr. Scott worked at various industry positions including one as a principal      with a business-to-business chemical database startup company.

Research Interests:
     Primary research interest is in experimental systems with a focus on distributed,      heterogeneous, and parallel computing. Interests in support of this focus include:      cluster computing, operating systems, computer security, parallel and high      performance computing, networking, task mapping and data placement, and object      oriented and plug-in technologies.
