Customizing PVM for your Needs Three “plug-in” Interfaces are Available

• pvm_reg_rm( ) : all PVM resource management is deferred to the calling task to handle

  • arbitrary collection of tasks

• pvm_reg_hoster( ) : calling task becomes responsible for starting pvmd on added hosts

  • can only be called by one task (on master pvmd)

• pvm_reg_tasker( ) : calling task becomes responsible for process creation on local host

  • at most one per host
