Conclusions
POWER4 has a similar performance signature to POWER3 in many ways
Many different application codes achieve at least 2X performance improvement over running on 375MHz POWER3 II.
Memory bandwidth contention can be a problem.
Process placement will not be a significant issue once a few bugs are fixed. Update (5/16/2002): performance bug has been identified and a patch has been implemented.
