Summary

In summary, we have discussed the following:

• the needs and motivations for multiscale computer modeling,
• multiregion and multispecies modeling for multiscale solute transport and chemical reactions, particularly, two applications at the Melton Branch Watershed at ONRL,
• the roles of parallel computing in large-scale water quality modeling, and
• incorporation of macroscale heterogeneity in future research.

Finally, I’d like to thank Dr. Paul Bayer of the Department of Energy for his programmatic support and direction.
