Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2001 09:23 (EDT) From: Ed Frome Subject: Resignation from the ORRHES To: Cc:, TO: Ms. La Freta Dalton Division of Health Assessment and Consultation Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry Cc: Dr. Davidson , Dr. Falk, ORRHES, and ATSDR Staff Dear Ms. Dalton, RE: Resignation from the Oak Ridge Reservation Health Effects Subcommittee (ORRHES). I am requesting that you accept my resignation as a member of the Oak Ridge Reservation Health Effects Subcommittee (ORRHES). The time required for the many work group meetings and preparation for the Subcommittee meetings is far in excess of what I can reasonably manage. If my time was being spent in positive and constructive ways I would be willing to ask my family and employer to consider allowing me to continue with this activity. I do not, however, feel this is the situation for reasons that are summarized on the following web page: I enjoyed meeting and working with many members of ORRHES and ATSDR staff and hope your efforts will be successful. I will try to contribute to issues that involve statistics and/or epidemiology, and I strongly recommend that you obtain the independent advise of a statistician at ATSDR/CDC on the somewhat complex and controversial statistical issues that seem to be of concern to the Subcommittee. Sincerely yours, Ed Frome P.S. Please forward a copy of this letter and the above web page to those members of the ORRHES that do not have e-mail or access to the Internet. Thanks. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Edward L. Frome, Ph. D. , Computer Science and Mathematics Division Oak Ridge National Laboratory ,P.O.
