Simulation of the Fermilab Booster using Synergia
Panagiotis Spentzouris Fermilab
High precision modeling of space-charge effects is essential for
designing future accelerators as well as optimizing the performance of
existing machines. Synergia is a high-fidelity parallel beam dynamics
simulation framework with fully three dimensional space-charge
capabilities and a higher-order optics implementation. Synergia
incorporates existing physics modules and solvers, and, by utilizing
modern programming design, presents the user with a "humane" interface
and standard problem description.
In this poster, we describe the Synergia framework and present
Synergia simulations of the Fermilab Booster accelerator and
comparisons with experiment. We also present code benchmarks comparing
Synergia with semi-analytic results and other simulation codes.
