Title: Parallel algorithms for boundary value problems

Abstract:

This is a talk about the assimilation of Lagrangian data, which come from measuring instruments that move with the flow, into ocean models. Lagrangian data have not been used quantitatively, at least to any great extent. Nevertheless, they carry considerable information about a fluid flow and hold significant promise for updating models.
