Welcome to the 6th Annual Symposium on OSCAR and HPC Cluster Systems. This year's symposium is again co-hosted with the International Symposium on High Performance Computing Systems and Applications (HPCS2008). The conference is being held at the University of Laval in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. This year the conference is being held slightly later in the year (June 9-11, 2008) to align with the Quebec City 400th anniversary celebrations.
The symposium has an expanded scope this year to more broadly encompass the general area of high performance computing (HPC) clusters. The emphasis is still primarily at the systems level, as opposed to HPC applications. Please see the Call for Papers for further details.
OSCAR is a widely used cluster installation and management toolkit. The
software is a snapshot of best known methods for building, programming and
using clusters. The project is an open effort among industry, academic and
research groups to help simplify the setup and management of computing
clusters. Further information is available at the OSCAR web site,
http://oscar.openclustergroup.org.
