| Purpose | The purpose of the workshop was to define a roadmap for establishing a Southeastern High-Performance Network Research Center. The Center would address national issues in advanced high-performance networking and its relationship to collaborations and distributed computing. The workshop (by invitation only, limited to ~25 attendees) served to build a concensus and a research plan for leveraging the network expertise and resources in the Southeast. Invitees included representatives from ORNL, UT-Battelle associated universities (Duke University, Florida State University, Georgia Tech, North Carolina State University, University of Tennessee, University of Virginia, and Virginia Tech), MCNC, and other key university and industry researchers. |
