The Intelligent and Emerging Computational Systems (IECS) Section conducts basic and applied research ranging from cooperating robots to quantum communications, including design and analysis of man-machine interfaces.

Groups

• Computational Intelligence-- Lynne Parker
  pursues research and development in cooperative autonomous robotics, and computational nonlinear science in support of CESAR



• Computational Nanotechnology-- Jack Wells
  conducts research in design, prototyping, analysis and use of nanodevices for computation.



• Human Systems Research-- Dan Tufano
  providing research and consulting on the interactions between humans and technology
  
  
• In-Vehicle Information Systems Development Center
-- Phil Spelt
creating functional requirements and technical system specifications for an in-vehicle information system (IVIS) intended to make the complex task of driving (including both vehicle control and route navigation) safer, more efficient, and easier for the driver


• Optical and Quantum Computing-- Jacob Barhen (acting)
  conducts research into the design, assembling, testing, and applications of optical and quantum computing systems.
