The basic layout for the booth has "Y" areas that each have two laptop stations, each with 35"x40" space immediately above it for a poster and a 98" x 49" space above that. The "U" areas have additional overhead poster space over the archways and across the middle of the tower. The archway poster spaces are 47" x 49", the middle tower poster spaces are 38" x 49". We treat all the overhead spaces as one continuous poster visually, even though they are cut into segments. (all spaces are given width x height), more info on floorplan/layout

Draft Poster Content
Astrophysics/Fusion ("Y" and Lightbox Pylon)
Fusion contact: Don Batchelor (content is final)
Astro contact: Tony Mezzacappa (content is final)Note: Tony Mezzacappa's Astro demo will also be given at a dedicated station in the IBM booth. Tony will also give two 20 minute talks in the IBM booth theater on "Supercomputing at ORNL". We also expect to have him featured in one of the live spots that Denver channel 9 will do from the show floor.
Lightbox Pylon: (Fallback: leave out this pylon)
- side 1--Quantum (OK to use old one)
- side 2--Nano (need content)
Scientific Discovery through Advanced Computing (Applications "U")
diagram (several posters), notes
SciDAC contact: Betsy (need someone to verify/proof!)
- Climate (poster and demo), contact: David Erickson (content is final)
- SciDAC participation overview for panel below tower, contact: John Drake (content is final)
this needs to be some sort of diagram or list showing all the SciDAC areas that ORNL is participating in and how they inter-relate. Who has that info?- Performance Evaluation (poster and demo), contact: Pat Worley (content is final)
Genomes to Life ("Y" and Lightbox Pylon)
Phil LoCascio, Andrey Gorin (almost final)
Lightbox Pylon:
- side 1--Materials (content is final) Schulthess
- side 2--Math (use old one?--not if we can help it) contact: Ed D'Azevedo (he's working on new content)
Power for Discovery (Infrastructure "U")
Infrastructure "U" (several posters) notes, draft posters (almost final)
Contact: Buddy Bland? Most of the extra stuff I have came from Randy Burris and Bill Wing -- lots of great stuff, but way too much detail! Need someone who can pare these down to the essentials. What I've been sent (NOT necessarily what we're using on the big posters):
- Probe (general)
- Intelligent Agents (entire powerpoint presentation)
- Scientific Data Management ISIC and ASPECT (2 posters)
slide 1 of this goes as part of the apps U, slide 2 will only be used on demo- RACHET (distributed data analysis)
goes on poster over laptop demo content is final- Probe ATM (entire powerpoint presentation)
- SSFnet (entire powerpoint presentation)
CCA ("Y" and Lightbox Pylon)
CCA (2 overhead posters), contact: David Bernholdt (content is final)
- demo station 1 poster (need content/concept)
- demo station 2 is smartboard (no printing required)
poster or doorway beside smartboard? (here and with Harness)
Lightbox Pylon:
- side 1--Climate (DONE -- can use old one)
- side 2--Networking (NEED HELP!)
Tools for Discovery (cluster/ETC "U")
- Harness , contact: Jim Kohl (content is final)
this section includes a blank area for projection
(smartboard -- also a projection -- will be below this section instead of a laptop demo station)
poster or doorway beside smartboard? (here and with CCA)- CUMULVS (over archway), contact: Jim Kohl (content is final)
- blank area for projection of Scaleable Systems on middle tower), contact: Al Geist (no printing required)
- IBM CRADA (blue gene, etc.) over archway, contact: Al Geist (have content/concept)
- OSCAR with actual cluster, contact: Steven Scott (content is final)
C3 tools poster concept/content, Oscar poster concept/content
no posters below because cluster fills spaceoutside of office (closed in "Y")
- Scalable Systems Center, contact: Al Geist (content is final)
- Materials Y sized posters will go here (content is final)
Home of Discovery (aka Pit or Recruiting "U")
contact: Betsy (content is final) links to draft and raw material
a "U" showing FINAL dimensions --
- Facility upgrades, contact: Betsy (content is final)
- Overview of ORNL programs panel under tower NEED HELP!
- panel above demo station, topic?
This has been UPDATED! These are now the actual outside dimensions of the media (we have already calculated how much (if any) air gap there is to be around each poster. The beams are 5" wide.
The size shown for the poster above a laptop (green) is the size that will be used for Astro, Fusion, GTL, and Storage. CCA and Kohl's stuff will be different, so will the networking and cluster.
Topics we need to cover
HPC infrastructure
- Computers and buildings (Bland)
- Networking
includes Rao's dynamic routing, Wing, E2E center?, ?- Data Grid
includes HPSS/Probe (Burris), data mining (Brian Worley)- Performance Evaluation (Pat Worley)
SCiDAC/Applications
- Climate/Carbon Center (Drake/King)
includes CCSM modeling, ESD carbon (CDIAC?), ARM, ?- Astrophysics (Mezzacappa)
- Fusion (Bachelor)
- Biology (Brian Worley)
includes Locascio's genome, Eunok's CFD, ?- Materials (Shelton)
