Tatiana Karpinets



Dr. Tatiana Karpinets is a Research Scientist in the Computer Science & Mathematics Division at the ORNL and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Tennessee. She received the MS degree in Biophysics from the Kharkov State University in Ukraine. From 1991 to 2001 she worked as a Research Scientist and then as a Chief Scientist on computational and mathematical modeling of Biological Systems in the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture in Russia. In 2002 she joined the Department of Physics in the Wright State University in Dayton (OH, USA) as a postdoctoral research scientist, where she worked on two projects "Bioinformatic Support for toxicogenomics" and "Simulating the Interactions of Genes, Proteins and Metabolites in Cell-Like Entities". Dr. Karpinets specializes in bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics, and mathematical modeling of biological systems. She has dozens of publications in these area of research.
