With the advent and proliferation of today's graphic software, processing image data has become common place. Cyberspace receives an abundance of image transfers. These images take up considerable bandwidth. Mathematicians and scientist are studying ways to decrease the amount of data processed. The data manipulated is pixel data, which commonly uses integers from 0-255 to represent the data attributes of an image. Singular value decomposition is one method used to efficiently decrease the amount of data processed.
