VISUALIZATION/MATERIALS SCIENCESScientific Rendering of High TC SuperconductivityMy research work is to program a model of a crystal using Visual Molecular Dynamics and other grapical languages, and illustrate a superconductivity image. I am working in the Center for Computational Sciences, Visualization Lab in conjunction with Joshua Bietz, who works in the Computational Materials Sciences group in the Computer Science and Mathematics Division, Oak Ridge National Laboratory. My objective is to give research scientists a visualization on the PowerWall to help them understand how high Tc superconductivity performs at the Microscopic level. When electrons flow through the lattice their behavior is dependent on the temperature of the material. A 3D image and a 2D image of the crystal will be shown by slicing the crystal in half or by sliding out a plane,to explain how these different elements operate on a lattice. |
