| SC07 March Newsletter Student Volunteer Opportunities Undergraduate and graduate student volunteers are needed to assist with the administration of the conference. Student volunteers will receive free conference registration, housing for out-of-town volunteers, and most meals. This is an exciting opportunity for students to see and discuss the latest high-performance networking and computing technology, and to meet leading researchers while contributing to the success of this annual event. Volunteers are expected to be available for a total of 4-5 hours of work per day during the week of the conference. No special skills or experience are necessary for most volunteer positions; however, some familiarity with computing platforms, audio/visual equipment, or office equipment can be helpful. Applications will be available on April 2 and are due August 3. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by September 3. More Information: http://sc07.supercomp.org/conference/studvolunteers Tutorials Program Solicits SC07 invites you to submit proposals for tutorials at introductory, intermediate or advanced levels for either full-day (6 hours) or half-day (3 hours) sessions. Tutorials can include "hands-on" material with exercises and guided-learning demos and will be chosen competitively by a distinguished panel of experts. Tutorial presenters will receive an honorarium and travel support. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: programming and construction of parallel, distributed, cluster and grid systems; high performance and parallel I/O; computer security; program development, performance analysis and optimization tools and techniques; new technologies and architectures; visualization; collaborative technologies and tools; algorithms and numerical methods; and application-specific topics. More Information: http:/supercomp.org/techprogram/tutorials/sc07. Poster Submission Opens Posters are one of the most exciting parts of the SC07 experience, providing a venue for late-breaking research results and informal discussions during a hosted reception. SC07 will have two types of posters: The ACM Student Research Competition, with posters by individual students (http://www.acm.org/src/); and Regular Posters by non-students or groups. The deadline for both types of posters is July 31 and submissions are open now! More Information: http://sc07.supercomp.org/techprogram/posters Questions: posters@sc07.supercomputing.org |
